Planet Rotations #142

In the age of digital music, we tend to skip through albums, listening to one or two tracks - missing some of the deeper cuts that may be brilliant. I am a big fan of the album format, and love to experience the entire collection the way the artist intended. Listening to one or two songs is like randomly reading a few chapters of a book and expecting to understand the completed work. Like any music lover, I love to share what I'm listening to and discover some new things from friends. Here's my playlist for this week. Please put your lists in the comments below, or interact on Facebook or Twitter.

[Friday On The Turntable] Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs/Love Spit Love)

Welcome to this week's Friday On The Turntable feature! For those of you that follow my blog on Facebook, you'll recall that each Friday I post a featured record that I'm currently enjoying. To enhance the experience, I've been filming short videos - discussing a brief history of the record, my favorite tracks and what it means to me. The video is embedded below - and don't forget to subscribe to my youtube channel here.

This week's episode of FOTT begins a new series called 'Why Isn't This On Vinyl.' I'm kicking things off with the CD-only, solo debut from Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs / Love Spit Love) - my absolute favorite album of 2006.
