Peter Hook, bass player of Joy Division and New Order, is on the verge of releasing an EP of reworked Joy Division classics. Peter Hook & The Light, as the band is called, have just debuted two videos today. The first is a gorgeous version of Joy Division's brilliant Atmosphere
- featuring Rowetta (formerly of The Happy Mondays) on vocals. The other track is a formerly, unfinished Joy Division song called Pictures In My Mind with Hooky on the mic.
Both tracks, along with new versions of JD's Insight
and New Dawn Fades
, will round out the EP entitled 1102 / 2011 due out on Hacienda Records on May 9th. Please enjoy.
UPDATE: Peter Hook and The Light have also released a full-length album, which features a live performance of the entire Unknown Pleasures album plus six other songs, including Love Will Tear Us Apart. Available on CD
and Vinyl
