Rozz Williams. The 20 Best Songs

Roger Alan Painter, known as Rozz Williams, passed away 13 years ago - on April 1, 1998 at the age of 34.  Rozz started his career at 16, forming the band Christian Death in 1979. His first album, Only Theatre Of Pain, was released in 1982, when Rozz was just 19 years old. Greatly under-appreciated, Rozz left behind a really diverse body of work. In memory of his death, I'd like to present my picks for the Top 20 Songs featuring the late, great Rozz Williams. Please keep in mind that many great songs had to be left off in order to bring it down to 20. It wasn't easy. Click on song / album titles to purchase - or scroll down to bottom for a Spotify playlist.

  1. Hey Bart, sorry to bug you again, but I came across this post (good pics, BTW), and there's something I'd like to ask you. For the last few years there's been a rumor charging around the Net that in 1990 Rozz auditioned for the role of Pennywise in Stephen King's IT. Allegedly he showed up in a home-made clown costume and read one of the sexually explicit passages from the book on camera. I asked the people at RozzNet but never heard back. I know you've worked with Gitane and a few other members of the CD Family in the past, so I thought you might be able to say if there's any truth to this.

    1. Wow. I've never heard about this before. Next time I talk to my friends over at Rozznet, I'll ask. :)
