Song Of The Day 1981: Nico - Vegas

This week we're taking you to 1981. Here is Part 3...

Nico was the voice behind the Velvet Underground classics 'All Tomorrow's Parties', 'I'll Be Your Mirror' and 'Femme Fatale.' In the years following her departure from the VU, she released 6 solo albums before her death in 1988. From folk to experimental music, she covered a lot of ground in her solo work. In 1981, her fifth album followed a seven year release drought after 1974's The End. Today's featured song comes from her second-to-last album, 1981's Drama Of Exile. It's called Vegas. Please enjoy.

  1. Love love love Nico and love "Vegas." I hate the way her solo work gets neglected, especially the latter day stuff. Which makes your entry here doubly special, so thank you Bret!
