Mott The Hoople were about to call it quits when David Bowie stepped in and offered them one of his songs to record. That song was All The Young Dudes
, which resurrected Mott's career. Bowie ended up producing the album which was released on September 8, 1972. [September 8th is my birthday!] Today's Song of The Day is the final track from All The Young Dudes

. It's a piano ballad written by singer Ian Hunter. I could not find an appropriate video of the Mott version, so I've included a recent video of Ian Hunter performing Sea Diver, along with a player for the audio to the original 1972 song. Please enjoy.
