Collecting Vinyl Records by Robert Benson: A Review

Okay, so you went out and bought some vinyl records on Record Store Day, or you just unpacked that crate of dusty records in the garage. Now what do you do? Well Robert Benton over at collectingvinylrecords.com has published an ebook covering all of the bases about record collecting. With over 8000 slabs of vinyl in his collection, and 30+ years in the hobby, he is definitely a go-to guy for a wealth of collected wisdom.

Robert was kind enough to send me a copy of his ebook - it sells for a mere $6.99 on his site. It contains almost 200 pages filled with tons of info for the beginner or avid collector.

Here's an incomplete list of what's inside:

  • Learn how to store, protect and clean your precious vinyl
  • Learn the best online places to buy vinyl and parts for your turntable
  • The debate of sound superiority: CD vs. Vinyl
  • Learn how records are graded, so when you go to buy online you'll know the difference between VG+ and NM
  • Tons of clickable links that will steal your day while you get sucked into collections of the best (and worst) album covers, online stores, interviews, etc - all of the things music junkies love.
  • Lots and lots more...

Visit Robert's site to purchase Collecting Vinyl Records. While you're there, take a look around and be sure to visit his blog. Please enjoy.
