This week we're taking you to 1981. Here is Part 3...
Nico was the voice behind the Velvet Underground classics 'All Tomorrow's Parties
', 'I'll Be Your Mirror
' and 'Femme Fatale
.' In the years following her departure from the VU, she released 6 solo albums before her death in 1988. From folk to experimental music, she covered a lot of ground in her solo work. In 1981, her fifth album followed a seven year release drought after 1974's The End
. Today's featured song comes from her second-to-last album, 1981's Drama Of Exile
. It's called Vegas
. Please enjoy.

Love love love Nico and love "Vegas." I hate the way her solo work gets neglected, especially the latter day stuff. Which makes your entry here doubly special, so thank you Bret!
ReplyDeleteHeather, I hear you loud and clear. I love all of her work... Sixty/Forty is just amazing. Thank you for commenting. Always a pleasure to hear from other Nico fans. :)
