In preparation for my upcoming list - The Best Debut Albums of the 1980s - I will be featuring songs from some of the albums - and from some that didn't quite make the list. If you would like to contribute your Top 5 picks to be featured on my blog, please send me an email over on the Life On This Planet Facebook Page.
In 1988, Iceland's The Sugarcubes released their debut album, Life's Too Good. Featuring a strong rhythm section, the unique vocal stylings of Bjork, and the sometime-bizarre offerings of co-vocalist Einar, The Sugarcubes were immediate alternative radio favorites with the brilliant single, 'Birthday.'
You'll have to wait and see where, or if, Life's Too Good makes my Best Debut Albums of the 1980s - keep checking back for the list. In the meantime, please enjoy 'Deus' - which was the third single from The Sugarcubes.
Don't own this album? Fix that now:
