In preparation for my upcoming list - The Best Debut Albums of the 1980s - I will be featuring songs from some of the albums - and from some that didn't quite make the list. If you would like to contribute your Top 5 picks to be featured on my blog, please send me an email over on the Life On This Planet Facebook Page.
Washington DC's Bad Brains released their debut album on cassette back in 1982. The album kicks off with today's featured song, 'Sailin' On,' which has seen its share of covers by No Doubt, Moby, John Frusciante, Soulfly, HIM, etc. At just under two minutes in length, 'Sailin' On' is a flurry of guitar and drums, but at its core it's a touching breakup song... and don't forget that killer guitar solo! Okay, turn up the volume and please enjoy.
Don't own this album? Fix that now:
