Song Of The Day 1999: Brendan Perry - Saturday's Child

For the next two weeks, I am representing each year of the 1990s with a song-a-day... and each song will come from a debut record of its corresponding year. As you can probably guess, I'm preparing for a big Best 90s Debut List, ala the one from last week: The 25 Best Debut Albums Of The 1980s. I had a lot of fun putting it together, and having some of you guys contribute lists made it even better. So start thinking of your Top 5 Debut Albums of the 1990s! If you haven't already, please subscribe to my daily posts over at the Life On This Planet Facebook Page. Thanks for stopping by.

We are now at the conclusion of our daily run-through of some great tracks that appeared on debut albums released in the 1990s. Be sure to check back early next week for my Best Debut Albums of the 90s list. Back In 1999, Dead Can Dance's Brendan Perry released his very first solo LP, Eye Of The Hunter. The glorious opening track, 'Saturday's Child' is today's featured song. If you are hearing it for the very first time, please enjoy. As you may have heard, DCD is back - with a world tour and new album coming this Summer! :)

Don't own this album? Fix that now:

  1. Good choice today! It reminds me of the folk numbers on 'Toward the Within'. REALLY looking forward to catching DCD in October.

    1. Thanks Jonathan! What city you gonna be catching them in?

  2. Hopefully Milan. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for missing them in '05. I was living in Philly at the time, and they skipped over us and went straight from NY to DC.
